Home Mead is a light and airy cottage; ideal for a family getaway. The cottage is accessed by a number of steps so would not be suitable for those with severe mobility restrictions. Home Mead has a comfortable double bedroom and two twin rooms. It has a spacious sitting/dining room, well-equipped kitchen area as well as a compact but functional bathroom with an "L" shaped shower bath.. The property benefits from gas central heating and instant hot water. There is an electric oven with ceramic hob, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier, microwave, freezer and fridge. In the sitting room there is an inglenook fireplace with a multifuel stove: top-ups of logs and coal are available for a small additional charge. The Freeview flat screen TV also has an integral DVD player and a good selection of DVDs can be borrowed from the main house. There are gardens surrounding the property with plenty of places to sit and enjoy the peaceful location. There is a gas BBQ available for alfresco dining.  All linen and towels are provided; please just bring your own beach towels if required.  No smoking in the cottage.

There are many places to visit and things to do in this unspoilt part of Wales. The ancient Township of Laugharne is best known as the home of Dylan Thomas and visits to the Boat House where he lived and wrote and Browns Hotel where he drank and mused are not to be missed. The ruined Norman Castle is also well worth a visit with its fantastic views over the Taf Estuary. A mile or so west of Brook is the village of Pendine with its tremendous 7 mile beach famous for numerous land speed records and now home to the Museum of Speed. A little further afield are the seaside resorts of Saundersfoot and Tenby and the attractions at Bluewater, Oakwood and Heatherton. The Millennium Coastpath passes the property, just across the road. For mountain bike enthusiasts the Brechfa Forest is just a car journey away and we have secure storage for bikes.

There is plenty of secure, off-road parking on-site and visitors with boats are welcome!  The property can be accessed by public transport - the nearest station is in Carmarthen and there is a regular bus service from there which passes through Brook.  Well-behaved pets are welcome at a small extra charge: please be sure to bring plenty of comfortable bedding for them as pets are not allowed on any soft furnishings or beds.  Dogs must be kept on leads around the property (we have dogs, cats and a tortoise!) and please ensure that you clean up after them.
